The committee engaged with stakeholders and held consultation meetings with representatives from local feed industries, the Regional Veterinary Hospital and Epidemiology Centre, and the Phuentsholing Livestock Central Store.

Discussions focused on key issues such as the quality and sufficiency of feed, animal welfare, and regulatory gaps, policy implementation with the aim of understanding ground realities and gathering valuable insights.

As part of the field visits, the committee also visited the Regional Cattle Breeding Centre in Wangkha, Chukha, to assess breeding programmes and livestock productivity.

In Haa Dzongkhag, the committee conducted a consultation meeting with the dzongkhag officials to understand perspectives on livestock development and policy implementation, including highland communities. The team further visited the National Research and Development Center for Riverine and Lake Fisheries, where they reviewed ongoing research initiatives and explored opportunities to strengthen the fisheries sector under the proposed bill.

The committee tour will continue to other dzongkhags, where the committee will engage with a broader range of stakeholders. The inputs gathered during the tour will contribute to informed decision-making and effective policy formulation during the upcoming parliamentary deliberations.
